Morphometric analysis using geographical information system techniques in serpeng and sumurup watersheds

Abstract Serpeng and Sumurup are allogeneic rivers in Wonosari’s basin, which derive water to Gunungsewu karst drainage system. The river flow characteristics of their system influenced by the watershed weather conditions area. In addition, quantitative morphometry plays an important role hydrological processes with remote sensing geospatial techniques used carry out a morphometric analysis. SRTM (DEM) was efficient tool for extracting parameters. much wider, covers total area 42.80 km 2 , length main being 21.44 km, while 10.58 has 8.85 km. However, density both them classified on medium category indicates basin is moderate permeability susceptible flooding erosion process. highest order 4th level stream orders elongated shape 3rd oval shape. Comparative analysis allogenic could represent geomorphological expression spatiotemporal variation hydrology behavior rivers.
